San Diego Smothermon

Cam and I went to San Diego to meet up with Jeff (Smothermon for those who don't know) as he goes through A-school for the Navy.

I took some pics before the swell started coming in and then put the camera in the car. Glad I did too, because when we got in the water it was over cast (the infamous "Marine Layer") and there were a handful of people on the beach, but when we got out (3-4 hours later) it was blue sky's and the beach was full of people. We didn't notice them though, because we were too busy out side the break catching the waves of our lives!

Yep, Jeff went from paddling in and riding on his stomach "boogie" style, to knee boarding, to standing in one day!!! He was fearless, out in 6-7 (sorry east coasters) foot swell and waves; paddled out past the break and of course paid his dues (by getting slammed by a few good sized waves). S'all-right Jeff, trust me, we've ALL paid our dues. But we are super proud of him and we had a fabulous day. Here cam is ridding his fish board inside on 2-3 foot beach break reforms.

We had a blast checking out San Diego and we will be going back soon to hit the Zoo and the base with Jeff and the other boys. This was a spur of the moment quick-trip.

Jeff & Cam working to get back out.

Cam at a life guard station right next to the Navy Base where Jeff lives. And below that Cam jumping down and embankment (as usual) and getting super sandy (as usual) and having a great time (as usual).
