Thoughtful

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. I thought some Lewis quotes would come in handy for the day. As often happens to me, and maybe to you too, past thoughts are drudged up through the quotations of great people. Possibly it is for our own good, to bolster our position in such cases against making the same mistakes (we often hate the most, the things we see in ourselves and don't like) that we have been victim of.

Enjoy the thought and wonder if it was not the same for Lewis as he wrote. Funny how our best of intentions can get in the way of real help and true love. I have said before “If you really loved them you would…”, as much for my own rebuke as for those I might have been speaking to. Sometimes we are blinded by our own agenda and God’s agenda finds its way anyway, other times we are blatant hindrances to what should happen if we would just get out of the way and see straight for once.
